We know the challenges patients and their loved ones face when given a
cancer diagnosis. That’s why our Medical Oncology and Hematology
department at Cortland Regional offers convenient, compassionate treatment
option close to home.
We collaborate with in-house and off-site medical experts in the fields
of radiology, medical oncology, surgery and radiation oncology to best
care for our patients’ needs. Our cancer nurse navigator helps to
guide patients through their treatment process every step of the way.
Our dedicated team of doctors and medical professionals is focused on
you. We provide a coordinated and personalized approach, educating you
on treatment options and developing an individualized treatment program.
And most important, you will be cared for by the same team, so you're
in the hands of familiar faces every step of the way.
A dedicated treatment and infusion room, as well as a waiting area, are
designed for patient and family comfort. Each patient area includes a
recliner, personal television, privacy screens and seating for friends
or family. With the treatment room on site at the medical center, patients
can remain in one location for all related healthcare services, such as
lab work and imaging.
Cancer Community Support
Cortland Regional Hematology and Oncology also offers the Cancer Community
Room where patients can meet with the Cancer Nurse Navigator to discuss
local resources available to patients and their caregivers. Patients have
access to the Cancer Resource Room. This room includes a computer/printer,
informational books on nutrition and many pamphlets and handouts on specific
cancer diagnoses’ and prevention screenings available.
Located at 1095 Commons Avenue, the Cancer Community Room, decorated with art created by student artists
from Cortland County, is a comforting environment for patients and survivors.
A cancer diagnosis is the beginning. We can help with what comes next.
Hope and healing begin at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
