Your #1 Connection to Great Health
Cortland Regional Medical Center has received the highest ranking in New
York State by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Value-Based
Payment (VBP) program. The CMS Value-based Payment (VBP) program assigns
scores based both on implementing improvements and on achieving a high
level of care. Each year CMS scores all eligible New York State hospitals
on aspects of care. This year they were—risk-adjusted mortality
and patient outcomes; patient experience; patient safety; and overall
Ranked first in New York State, Cortland Regional placed 56 out of over
2800 national hospitals with enough data to be scored by CMS.
Cortland Regional has remained in the top ten for the last three years,
having placed 9th in 2016 and number one in 2015, respectively. The only other nearby hospital
with top ten value-based purchasing scores is Guthrie Corning, and Cortland
Regional was one of only 4 other hospitals in last year’s top 10
to make the list again this year.
Access to Skilled Medical Staff
We have also attracted the attention of renowned specialists who’ve
chosen the Cortland area as their home. Our exceptional medical staff
provides our community with access to a diversity of medical expertise
that rivals many larger urban hospitals. These professionals recognize
the challenges, opportunities and quality of life that this region has
to offer. Visit our
Physicians Directory page to learn more about the specialists you’ll have access to when
cared for at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Partnerships to Enhance your Care
While we take pride in being the quality of care we provide our patients,
we also recognize the benefits in our partnerships with other healthcare
organizations and institutions. For example, we worked closely with St.
Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in establishing a local dialysis
center for area residents, and launched a telemedicine program with University
Hospital to speed the treatment for stroke patients.
Inpatient, Outpatient and Everything In Between
Cortland Regional is more than just a local hospital. We are a regional
medical campus offering services that cover the full range of health demands.
Hospital Care – A Better Inpatient Experience
At Cortland Regional Medical Center we understand a hospital stay is not
easy: you are away from the comforts of home, and you’re concerned
about your health. Our primary goals are your health along with your sense
of comfort while you’re under our care.
The Hospitalist Program
Cortland Regional Medical Center has implemented the
Hospitalist Program to enhance your inpatient stay. A Hospitalist is a physician specializing
in hospital-patient treatment and management. Your primary care physician
may choose to have a Hospitalist to oversee your stay, and provide you
with attentive expert care.
Priorities for Inpatient Care: Comfort and Convenience
No one wants to be in the hospital, but the more comfortable a hospital
stay is the better. At Cortland Regional Medical Center, we cater to the
patient and their family with a variety of amenities: free parking, a
cafeteria featuring a full menu, comfortable waiting areas and more.
Technology is constantly evolving and the equipment at CRMC is not just
on par with, but is often more advanced than that found at other larger
medical facilities in Central New York. Consider in our Medical Imaging
Department, Siemens®1.5T MAGNETOM Aera Magentic Resonance Imaging
(MRI), our two digital x-ray machines, our digital mammography suite,
64 slice CT scanner, 4D ultrasound, and three state-of-the-art nuclear
medicine cameras. Cortland Regional Medical Center also utilizes patient
management software in the ER. This technology assists medical staff as
they communicate between each other regarding patient information, and
gets patients in, out and on their way efficiently with the highest level of care.
A Network of Outpatient Resources
Our commitment to being your connection to great health is not limited
to the hospital walls. Cortland Regional offers many outpatient services
with flexible hours and convenient locations.
Through the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, rehabilitative physicians
and nurses can work with you in our residential care facility, through
an outpatient program or in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
From physical rehab and surgical consults to diagnostics and wound care,
our Fisher Avenue and West Road centers provide our community with a wide
range of services in a spacious and comfortable setting.
For patients who want to live independently at home but still need medical
attention and/or equipment, Cortland Medical Supply offers a variety of
options. Feature services include home delivery and pick-up of oxygen,
beds, wheelchairs and bathroom equipment.
If you’re already at Cortland Regional Medical Center, there’s
no need to travel far if you need laboratory services. With a total of
three locations for lab work (one on campus, and two in the community),
no appointments are necessary and results are usually available the same day.
