New Saturday Digital Mammography Service

Cortland Regional Medical Center announces an added convenience for women in need of mammograms: Saturday morning hours. Beginning Saturday March 3, patients can have routine screening mammograms performed from 8:00 – Noon in the medical center Imaging Department. This service will be available the first and third Saturday of each month.
According to Karen Haier, Manager of Imaging Services, the decision to extend digital mammography hours to the weekend was the result of an internal review and patient requests.
“We have added these hours as a convenience to outpatients, with their needs and schedules in mind.” noted Haier. “Digital mammograms performed on Saturdays will be evaluated and interpreted by the radiologist the following Monday morning. Any additional necessary imaging tests, or incomplete or abnormal findings, will be communicated to the ordering doctor on Monday as well.”
Patients must schedule their Saturday morning digital mammogram in advance through the Imaging Department and have a doctor’s order. Please call 756-3794 to schedule an appointment.
