NewsChannel 9’s “Operation Good Things” brings holiday cheer to Cortland Regional’s Residential Care Facility
Local television personality, Mike Price, dropped by Cortland Regional Medical Center’s Residential Care Facility on the first stop of NewsChannel 9’s annual gift exchange, “Operation Good Things.”
Telling jokes and passing out an assortment of community-donated gifts, Price shared the spirit of giving as well as some laughs, with the residents and the Adult Day Care participants. Playing cards, hats and scarves, books, and plush toys were among the items given away.
The Syracuse-based news channel has been running “Operation Good Stuff” for nearly 30 years. Right before Thanksgiving, viewers are asked to help brighten the holidays for adults in residential care facilities as well as adults and children in hospitals. Items that aren’t distributed to these facilities are donated to the Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army.
Cortland Regional is grateful that our residents continue to be included in this generous event.
“The holidays are difficult for people who cannot be home with their loved ones,” said Price as he passed out fuzzy socks and books to residents, “This is such a small way to make the holidays so much brighter for them.”
