'Tis the season to shop and make a difference!
For its second year, The Greater Homer Retail Partnership raised over $700
to help patients and families coping with cancer. Businesses in Homer
and Little York held their October fundraising event, “Together
We Can”, and donated a portion of their sales to the Cortland Memorial
Foundation in support of cancer care services at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Patients often incur extra out-of-pocket, non-medical expenses when undergoing
diagnosis and treatment. These donations enable Cortland Regional to distribute
gift cards to cover expenses which may include: gasoline and other transportation
costs for medical appointments; nutritional supplements, and over-the-counter
medical and wound supplies.
“The Foundation is grateful and thanks The Greater Homer Retail Partnership
for their fundraising efforts for this special cause! Most of us know
someone struck with this disease and this gift will help the patients
in our local community,” said Debbie Nadolski, Executive Director
of Cortland Memorial Foundation.
