The Administration of Cortland Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce
the addition of Julie A. Corkins to its management team. Julie is the
new Manager of Patient Registration. She responsible for the day-to-day
management of the admitting and patient registration functions. This includes
direct supervision of staff located in the central registration area,
Emergency Room, and Prompt Care walk-in clinic. She is charged with ensuring
that all patients are registered completely and efficiently, and that
the Patient Registration Department is service-oriented and constantly
improving customer satisfaction.
According to Julie, her main goal is to “develop the registration
team and help staff focus on improving both patient and physician satisfaction,
with positive impact on the revenue cycle.”
Julie brings over 22 years of combined patient registration supervisory
and clerical experience to her new position. Most recently she was the
Director of Patient Access and Communications for Sharon Hospital in Sharon,
CT. She began her health care career at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center
(Ogdensburg, NY) as a Patient Registration Clerk and ultimately rose to
become Assistant Director for Registration, Scheduling, and Switchboard.
Originally from Ogdensburg, she graduated from SUNY -Canton College of
Technology with an associates degree in Individual Studies Health and
Science. Julie is presently working towards her bachelor of science degree
in Health Management.
Julie now lives in Homer. She has three adult children: Jeslyn, John, and Jadian.
