The Administration of Cortland Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome
Donald Van Gorder as the medical center's new Director of Revenue
Cycle. In this newly created position, Don is responsible for the medical
center's accounts receivable management by overseeing patient registration,
billing, and collection.
Don brings over 27 years revenue cycle experience with effective project
and administrative management skills to his new role. Prior to joining
CRMC, he worked for 20 years as the Director of Patient Financial Services
at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. While Don was at St. Joseph's,
he oversaw the operation of eight departments in the fiscal division.
Among the initiatives he was involved in was the implementation of new
admissions and billing/accounts receivable modules, an advanced registration
program for outpatient services, and several electronic billing and remittance programs.
Don's other previous experience includes financial positions at Tompkins
Community Hospital in Ithaca and Cornell University Veterinary College.
He also served six years in the U.S. Air Force as a Disbursement Accounting
Born and raised in Ithaca, Don earned his associates degree in Business
Administration through Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden.
He previously matriculated at Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio.
Don makes his home in Ithaca with his wife Kandace, who works as an executive
assistant at Cornell University.
