Cortland Memorial Foundation offers a number of scholarship and loan programs, both to assist employees in pursuit of health-related careers and to assist those who want to continue/advance their current health-related training. Click here for the Scholarship Application form.

Health Education Loan Program

Application Deadline: June 1st

Description

Established in 1989 by the Cortland Memorial Foundation Board of Directors. This loan program is designed to financially assist individuals in pursuit of health-related careers and to ensure an adequate number of trained professionals to staff Cortland Regional Medical Center.

Qualifications

  • Acceptance into a health career program at an accredited institution
  • Evidence of financial need

Margaret E. Reynolds Scholarship Loan for Nursing

Application Deadline: June 1st

Description

Established in 1991 by Frank H. Reynolds in memory of his wife and in recognition of the nursing staff at Cortland Regional Medical Center. This program is designed to assist employees of Cortland Regional Medical Center who wish to enter or advance in the field of nursing.

Qualifications

  • Must be a medical center employee who has completed his/her probationary period
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Acceptance in an accredited undergraduate or graduate nursing program

Tuition Buy-Back Program

Application Deadline: June 1st

Description

Established in the fall of 2001 through collaboration between Cortland Regional Medical Center and Cortland Memorial Foundation. This program is designed to provide funding assistance to qualified candidates who currently have student loans related to their position at CRMC.

Qualifications

  • Must be a CRMC employee who has completed his/her probationary period
  • Must have current education loans that have not been in arrears or default

Annette Atkinson Education Assistance Scholarship Fund

Description

Established in 2006 by Kenneth Atkinson in memory of his wife, Annette Atkinson, a registered nurse at Cortland Memorial Hospital for 41 years. Its purpose is to assist a Cortland Regional Medical Center employee with non-tuition related expenses.

Qualifications

  • Must be a medical center employee who has completed his/her probationary period
  • Receiving CRMC tuition assistance
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Acceptance in an accredited undergraduate or graduate nursing program

No application required. Candidate shall be selected by lottery drawing through the Cortland Regional Medical Center Human Resources Department.

Dr. Stephen Yen Memorial Education Fund

Description

Established in 1999, the Fund is named in memory of Dr. Stephen Yen, a pediatrician at Cortland Memorial Hospital for 17 years. Its purpose is to assist individuals in pursuit of a career in a formal academic program, with a focus on Pediatrics or Newborn Nursery at Cortland Regional Medical Center.

Qualifications

  • Must be a medical center employee
  • Funding is restricted to support education, seminars, educational programs, or speakers in the area of Pediatrics and Newborn Nursery
  • Demonstrate financial needs

No application required. Candidates and/or educational program(s) shall be selected by the Foundation Executive Director and CRMC Nursing Administration.
