The CMF Golf Classic has become one of the most prestigious and successful tournaments in central New York. And this year’s CMF Golf Classic promises to be the same ….good golf with good food…and all for a good cause! With the help of our donors, the Foundation assists Cortland Regional’s efforts to provide high quality, compassionate healthcare, while keeping these services close to home.
On Monday, August 9, the Cortland Country Club was the site for the Cortland Memorial Foundation (CMF) Seventh Annual Golf Classic. The event attracted 80 golfers, as well as other invited guests, for a day of fun, golf, and fine food. This year’s tournament proceeds benefit Cortland Memorial Foundation, which supports programs and services at Cortland Regional Medical Center. Thanks to the generosity of its many sponsors, this year’s CMF Golf Classic profited close to $63,000.
“We are extremely pleased with this successful event,” said Debbie Nadolski, CMF Executive Director. “The medical center partners with many businesses, corporations and organizations on a daily basis who enable us to provide the best care possible for our patients. Some of these corporate supporters are right here in the Cortland community, others are based in the region or even elsewhere in the nation. They all recognize what a fine medical center we have in Cortland and stepped up to support the Golf Classic with financial contributions at various levels.”
A total of 66 businesses made contributions to the CMF Golf Classic. Eight of those contributed at the highest or “corporate sponsor” level: Cortland Memorial Radiology Associates, P.C.; Emergency Medicine Physicians of Cortland County; ENV Insurance Agency, LLC; I.B.E.W. LU 43 and Finger Lakes Chapter N.E.C.A; King & King Architects, LLP and Argus Engineering, PLLC; Kinney Drugs, Inc. and Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman, & Dicker, LLP.
Dr. Patrick Hayes, a member of Cortland Regional’s medical staff, and Thomas Gallagher, chairman of C.M.H. Services, served as co-chairs of the committee charged with organizing the CMF Golf Classic.
Plans will begin later this year for the 8th Annual Cortland Memorial Golf Classic, slated for August 8, 2011.
