Cortland Regional Medical Center is an acute care facility, licensed for 166 beds, that provides families with a broad range of services. These services include maternity, pediatrics, emergency, intensive care, laboratory, cardiology, surgery, imaging, pharmacy, medical/surgical, psychiatric, respiratory care, and rehabilitation. In 2010 over 5,600 residents receive care as inpatients at CRMC. An additional 34,200 used emergency care services, which includes our walk-in care facility, Prompt Care.
As part of the medical center’s initiative to provide services along the full continuum of care, CRMC opened an attached residential care facility in 1993. The Cortland Regional Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is home to 82 residents and also offers long-term care, adult day health care, short-term rehabilitation, and respite care programs.
A hallmark of our facility is our exceptional medical staff. Eighty-five physicians, the overwhelming majority of whom are board certified, are credentialed as members of our active, community, or consulting staff. They provide our community with access to a diversity of medical expertise that rivals many large urban hospitals. In addition to extensive Family Practice and Internal Medicine Departments, CRMC patients are treated by specialists in areas such as Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Gastroenterology, Urology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. These men and women could be practicing in communities with large metropolitan hospitals but chose to be here in Cortland, because they recognized the challenges, opportunities, and quality of life that this region has to offer.
